Weekend School
(Saturdays & Sundays)
Philosophy and Overview
At MCE’s Weekend School, our philosophy centers on nurturing the whole child — spiritually, psychologically, behaviorally, and intellectually — in a fun, engaging, and values-based environment. Our goal is to help children grow as confident young Muslims by:
- strengthening their faith and character;
- teaching them to read and begin memorizing the Qur'an correctly;
- developing their Arabic language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening;
- encouraging creative and reflective thinking through the educational program “Contemplate with Annous."
Students are placed in age-appropriate and skill-based groups: age 5–7, age 8-10, & age 11-13. Each group receives a balanced weekly schedule of Qur'an, Arabic language, and the educational program “Contemplate with Annous”, taught by trained educators who follow the very curricula developed by the program authors themselves.
Schedule:
from September 13, 2025 to April 26, 2026 (68 weekend learning days)
• every Saturday and Sunday
• Winter schedule (when Thuhr prayer is @1pm): 10AM – 1PM
• Summer schedule (when Thuhr prayer is @2pm): 11AM – 2PM
• Each day includes three 50-minute sessions, one for each program (Qur’an, Arabic, tafakkur), with a 10-minute break in between.
Ages:
the school accepts students between the ages of 5 years (provided they are socially/emotionally ready for school) and up to 13 years.

Parent involvement
The success of our program depends largely on parental involvement. Learning and memorizing the Holy Qur'an requires daily practice, and consistent home practice significantly enhances a child's progress. We provide parents with a weekly report on student progress and the areas they should follow up on at home. The MCE maintains an open-door policy, allowing parents to visit the classroom and monitor student activities with prior coordination.
We always welcome parent feedback and suggestions.

Attendance and punctuality
To maximize our time together, we encourage punctuality.
The learning process requires continuity. Therefore, attendance is mandatory unless there is a valid excuse and communication with the teacher.
If your child cannot attend regularly, please allow another student to take their seat, as spots are limited.
Students who do not comply with the attendance policy will be asked to withdraw.
Testing
We organize regular assessments to monitor students' progress and better meet their educational needs.
School reports
All students receive progress reports at the end of each semester. These reports list their achievements throughout the semester.
Recognitions and Competitions
Certificates are awarded upon successful completion of a specific level.
We hold competitions to motivate and encourage our students. Outstanding achievements throughout the semester will be recognized with certificates and gifts.
Extracurricular activities
We organize extracurricular activities throughout the semester to inspire students and maintain a healthy balance between academic and leisure time.
Behavioral Role Models
We understand the challenges parents face in raising their children Islamically these days.
We will, in-shaa'-Allah, work hand-in-hand with parents to model and reinforce positive behaviors in children, in accordance with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Lunch
Each child must bring their own lunch. Please avoid unhealthy foods and any foods containing nuts to protect children with allergies.
Important Notice
MCE's Weekend School reserves the right to expel any student who fails to adhere to MCE or school policies.
Final Supplication
We ask Allah The Almighty to grant our children and all Muslims the ability to recite and understand the Book of Allah, following the example of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). We conclude by giving all praises and thanks to Allah, The Lord of all the Worlds.
